Admittedly, convective initiation before sunset is a bit more uncertain due to the apparent lack of forcing for convection, but I've seen enough to know that these concerns are usually based on lack of information rather than potential.  In other words, we probably won't know if convective initiation will occur until probably the 20-23 Z time frame (i.e., when TCU actually start to develop).  Several other days in the past featured similar doubts regarding initiation, and due to factors beyond our real-time observation abilities, were able to produce.  Days that come to mind are: May 12, 2004 and of course, May 3, 1999.  Granted, it could just as easily cap bust, but I strongly doubt it will.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;First, I like the increasing flow over the mountains; this is a feature that is often present with regional outbreak events.   This should enhance the strength of the lee trough such that the near-surface winds will pick up in a hurry.  Should upper-flow be any stronger than progged (a la, May 3rd), this process should commence faster and lead to the potential for daytime supercells (since convergence along the dryline would be increased via downward mixing of westerly momentum behind the dryline).  Also, I really like the strong moisture advection. Concerns for today include: WSW 850 mb winds, a strong cap, moisture depth, and timing of the vorticity maximum.  Conversely, favorable factors are: reasonably high magnitude of moisture return (Tds ~60 F), powerful upper-system (wind max of 150 kts), strong shear at all levels and low LCL heights.   &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The RUC now is very bullish in developing storms down the length of the dryline by 00z with initial development occurring by 21Z (3 pm CST).  Hopefully, this indicates that the capping inversion will not be as significant as previously advertised.  Even so, I plan on taking this a bit more cautiously since 1.) Cap busts are not fun, and 2.) The target area is reasonably close to my starting location.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;My initial thought is to go northeast on I-44 and target the corridor between Tulsa and Bartlesville.  Perhaps, it will be best to hedge southward initially since moisture return has already occurred in SE Oklahoma and will have undoubtedly reached EC Oklahoma by 00Z. Moisture depth and quality remained an issue, which precluded the issuance of a high risk.  This turned out to be a good decision since the verification of the event was in the slight risk regime (only a few tornadoes and hail reports).  Nevertheless, Friday was a fun chase day.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Started out the chase in Norman, and we departed around 3 p.m. for the Childress area.  This was a late departure time, but due to outstanding driving (;-)), we made it to the targete area by about 5:40 p.m.  By this time, a full-fledged supercell had developed west of Memphis, TX, so we decided to target this storm.  We saw this storm, and a very well-developed supercell to its north.  The convection on the northern cell was particularly impressive, given the time of the year.  Our storm had a flat base, but it was obviously rotating with an *extensive* beaver tail feeding the storm from the east.  This might have been the most notable part of the storm, since I've never seen a bigger inflow band.  At any rate, the storm began to produce lowerings around 6 p.m.  We saw one RFD occlusion of a low-level mesocyclone, and it made a legitimate attempt at producing a tornado (two brief funnels were observed).  After this, the storm became an HP supercell, which lowered our hopes of seeing tornadoes.  Officially, this storm did produce a tornado around 6:15 p.m., but we were in the wrong position (apparently) to observe it. The timing of the main wave is a bit faster than previously progged. Though this will have little impact on what happens (i.e., tornadoes), it will have a large impact on where it happens. With the faster timing of the system, forcing for convection will occur sooner and wind fields will increase sooner which will increase the potential for daylight tornadoes in the Sooner state.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;A few thoughts about this potential event:&lt;br /&gt;First, I think the timing of the wave is particularly good, according to the latest model runs. Most significant tornado outbreaks occur when increasing flow (at all levels) is coincident with peak heating/thunderstorm initiation. This will likely be the case Friday as mid and upper level flow increases dramatically during the afternoon and evening hours.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Also, the 12Z NAM shows a narrow instability axis in place by 00z Sat (6 p.m. Fri). The maximum in CAPE is progged to be in NW OK (~1500 j/kg). On the other hand, the NAM forecasts the greatest low-level shear (0-1 km) south of I-40. Thus, the best juxtaposition of favorable parameters appears to be close to I-40. This far out, it's pointless to banter about model output on such a small scale, but it is interesting to discuss possible scenarios (based upon experience and climatology). &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I think the most likely scenario (see 3/27/04) is that several storms will form along the dryline (all potentially tornadic), but the greatest threat of tornadoes will exist on the northern end of the line. Temperatures will be slightly lesser in NW OK, but this could be beneficial in lowering the LCL heights. Otherwise, the environment should be relatively homogeneous down the dryline.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Furthermore, tornado outbreaks in Oklahoma during the month of February are not unprecedented. On February 17, 1961, 9 significant tornadoes (8 F3 s, 1 F2) impacted C/E Oklahoma including a large tornado in Oklahoma County. I was shocked to see how a pretty marginal setup had evolved into a classic setup for chaseable tornadic supercells. The Eta forecasted that &gt;3000 j/kg of MLCAPE would coincide with backed surface winds (SE to ESE) in northern Oklahoma into southern Kansas. Because of the forecasted strong veering in the lowest 3 kilometers of the troposphere, the Eta model developed a fairly broad region of enhanced low-level shear E and NE of the triple point. When I saw the forecast soundings, my mouth dropped. The CAPE/shear profile was almost ideal for significant tornadic supercells. The hodographs had the classic kink at about 2 kilometers that has been shown to be associated with many significant tornado events (given sufficient instability). Unfortunately, this relatively simple forecast became quite complicated on Monday morning.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Elevated convection fired overnight in NC OK and left an E-W oriented outflow boundary in its wake. We were hoping that the air to the north of the boundary would destabilize in order that we could have a storm ingest the higher vorticity air assoicated with the boundary. This wasn't to be; several rounds of convection fired later in the afternoon and drew some chasers further to the northeast. We decided to stick around Kingfisher for the majority of the afternoon, in hopes of better convection closer to the instability axis (CAPEs had risen to 4000 j/kg). Even so, we were concerned about the relative lack of shear further south, so we only reluctantly headed southward from Kingfisher when it became apparent that the northern target wasn't going to work out. Our hesitance turned out to be a blessing in disguise, as our original target storm near Anadarko became more and more linear on radar as we approached. However, a new storm developed explosively southwest of El Reno. Within a few short volume scans, it was apparent that the storm had became a full-blown supercell with rotation evident on SRV Tilt 2.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;When we first saw the base of this storm, it was rather flat with a distinct lack of scud. However, it was very isolated (especially when compared with storms further south), so we were optimistic about its potential. Around 7 p.m., the storm really began to take off. The structure was amazing: beaver tail, vault, powerful updraft, and a wall cloud were all visible from our location. Shortly after this, rotation became evident in the wall cloud. From here, a classic tornadogenesis sequence began with increasing wall cloud rotation (associated with an advancing RFD), increasing tail cloud motion from the north, and intermittent funnel clouds as the low-level meso began to occlude.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;At 7:26 p.m., a tornado finally set down about 5 or 6 miles WSW of El Reno. The tornado started as a slender rope, but quickly grew into a very photogenic stovepipe tornado. The tornado displayed tremendous vertical velocities along the edges of the funnel (which was quite laminar). Meanwhile, another funnel began to develop along the anticyclonic member of the rotational pair about 5 miles to the south of the original tornado. This funnel became a rather spectacular tornado in its own right within about halfway through the lifespan of the first tornado. This marks the first time I've ever seen double tornadoes (not satellite tornadoes); I really had a tough time figuring out which tornado I wanted to shoot! LOL. At any rate, both tornadoes roped out rather elegantly (the first was particularly spectacular---it changed shape rather rapidly). After this, we followed the storm in hopes that more tornadoes would form (I was sure that it wasn't over), but none did. I supsect that convection to the southeast of the El Reno storm contaminated its inflow.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;This was an absolutely fabulous chase! I still can't believe it all happened within an hour's drive of my house. Five years ago today, I chased my first high risk in western Oklahoma.&lt;span style=""&gt;  &lt;/span&gt;Really, the only thing similar between that day and this day is that the highest SPC categorical risk is the same. That day featured a very thick cirrus canopy that inhibited daytime heating for the vast majority of the day.&lt;span style=""&gt;  &lt;/span&gt;That will not be the case today, as a very pronounced mid-level dryslot rotates around the base of the upper trough.&lt;span style=""&gt;  &lt;/span&gt;Even looking at this trough on satellite, it looks like a doozy. &lt;span style=""&gt;  &lt;/span&gt;Classic comma head appearance---it just looks like it wants to eat something!&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;!--[if !supportEmptyParas]--&gt; &lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;The days leading up to now were filled with much uncertainty about whether or not today would be a big day.&lt;span style=""&gt;  &lt;/span&gt;Most of the storm chasing community knew there was some potential for today, if things shaped up nicely.&lt;span style=""&gt;  &lt;/span&gt;However, doubts about the position of the dryline, the quality of moisture return, and storm motion prevented us Oklahoma chasers from getting too excited.&lt;span style=""&gt;  &lt;/span&gt;But, last night, the models began their westward trend and our optimism began to grow.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;!--[if !supportEmptyParas]--&gt; &lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/p&gt;Today, I am focused on a few things (forecast wise). First of all, I’m monitoring the dewpoint temperatures to see if they will rise to the values progged by the RUC model. RUC has forecasted a plume of mid-60s Tds all the way up into NE OK. Should this occur, CAPE would become quite large and the tornado potential would increase markedly. However, models have overestimated the surface dewpoints for the last few systems, so I’m very skeptical of such a forecast. Nevertheless, lower 60s dewpoints should be sufficient for some nasty storms.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The next item on the forecast list is the potential for an outflow boundary. As I write this, elevated showers and thunderstorms are rapidly sweeping across Oklahoma from border to border. The showers are favorably timed (i.e. they shouldn’t negatively impact daytime heating), so the outflow boundary should have plenty of time to cook under the early April sun. Of course, the impact is three-fold (as usual). First, it will enhance vorticity (because of its inherent baroclinicity) via density differences across the boundary (i.e. warm air rises, cold air sinks). This will create a horizontal circulation that can then be tilted and stretched into the vertical (where you need spin when you want a tornado). Second, it will lower LCL heights (on the north side of the boundary), which has been shown to be very favorable for the development of tornadoes. Third, it will create a focus for convergence and storm development (parameters are great, but you still need a storm!). So, all in all, this is a very positive development in our quest for the ever-elusive tornado.&lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;!--[if !supportEmptyParas]--&gt; &lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;Because of these favorable developments, I expect the high risk will be expanded to include NE OK into SW MO.&lt;span style=""&gt;  &lt;/span&gt;Personally, I feel that (other than storm motions) the most favorable region for the development of strong, long-lived tornadoes is in far SE KS, NE OK, and into SW MO.&lt;span style=""&gt;  &lt;/span&gt;Here, storms will remain more isolated and will have access to high-octane moisture.&lt;span style=""&gt;  &lt;/span&gt;The only negative here (as compared to further north) is that pressure falls will not be as significant.&lt;span style=""&gt;  &lt;/span&gt;However, this should not preclude the development of very dangerous tornadic supercells.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;span style=""&gt;Target: Bartlesville, OK&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;EDIT: &lt;/span&gt;The newest RUC looks *awesome*. If this were to verify, I'd expect an outbreak of tornadoes. However, the RUC still seems to be a bit bullish on Tds (compared to the observations). I love how storm fire in SC KS by 21Z! Further west is much, MUCH better. In addition, it seems that all the vort is compacted into one lobe, which is progged to be perfectly timed with daytime heating. Also, sfc winds are still sig. backed, which is maximizing 0-1 km helicity and keeping storm motions down a tad. I love it! Higher moisture is currently located in the Red River valley region with dewpoints as high as 70 being observed currently in the DFW area. With the exception of low stratus, insolation has begun in earnest across all of Oklahoma and the Texas panhandle. Thus, my greatest concern has been alleviated. All models suggest CAPE should be well over 3000 j/kg by 00z, which seems reasonable based on the latest surface observations. Because the target area is so broad (SW OK to NW OK), I'm thinking that we should target the I-40 corridor and adjust our position based on this afternoon's observations. The SPC issued a moderate risk in the first outlook of the day, and maintained that category (instead of raising to high) based on moisture and instability issues (as is typical of early season chase days). Even still, SPC mentioned the possibility of isolated strong tornadoes from Nebraska down to eastern Oklahoma. After taking one look at the forecasted low-level shear (&gt;200 m2/s2 of 0-1 km helicity), I had to agree.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Justin Walker, Brandon Lawson, Jana Lesak, and Jeff Snyder met outside my house at about 12:20, and storms had already fired in western Oklahoma on the dryline (which proved to be problematic since full insolation was never established in E OK). The good news was that these storms were already showing signs of “discretizing,” as they had formed quickly into a line initially. We headed south on I-35 and west on Highway 9 to get in position for a supercell that was approaching Blanchard. We headed as far south as Dibble where we gassed up the vehicles. We went a bit too far south relative to the storm’s track, so we had to head up to “storm chaser hill” just SW of Blanchard (this is old Hw. 62). This afforded us a spectacular view of the storm that by this time was a massive high precipitation supercell. The structure was fantastic, but it was obvious that this storm was not going to do it, as far as tornadoes were concerned. With al little deliberation, we decided to head south to another supercell near Duncan.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;On our way southward, we saw our second supercell of the day near Lindsay, Oklahoma. This storm was far more classic than the last (actually, almost looked LP). Still, we ignored this storm in favor of the more developed southern storms.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Somewhere near Purdy (if memory serves), we saw yet another supercell. This storm was a little bit more strung out, and it had a lot of “flanking line garbage.” Because there was still another supercell to its south, we ditched this storm to chase the next one in line. This one had 70+ dBz refelectivity and a well-developed hook echo.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Finally, we arrived at the southernmost supercell, and boy, was it a doozy. The mesocyclone was much larger than the past three, and definitely more vertical. In addition, the rotation was very strong in the midlevels. Somewhere near Pernell, we saw a very well developed low-level mesocyclone. It was rotating very quickly, and it seemed that a tornado was inevitable. Indeed, we received a report (via HAM radio) that this storm was in the process of producing a tornado. However, I believe this tornado must have been in the rain, because we could not make a visual. At any rate, this storm continued toward Pauls Valley, where it became very disorganized. We chased the storm for another 30 minutes or so east of I-35, when we finally decided to ditch this supercell for another developing supercell that had formed along the outflow of the old Pernell supercell.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;We intercepted this new supercell near the town of Ada. This supercell exhibited mostly high precipitation storm character, but was, for a short while, on the wet side of classic. The low-level mesocyclone of this particular storm was absolutely tremendous. Rain curtains could be seen rotating rapidly to our southwest. I thought for sure this storm was hiding a tornado. Well, we will never know, for another surge of precipitation ripped through the l.l. meso and completely obscured it from view. Nearer the town of Ada, the storm became fully HP. We watched as the outer rain curtains approached our location. The rain/no rain gradient was very tight! It was really cool to see the rain fall heavily at locations just over ½ mile away while no rain was falling on our location! We then made a hasty retreat to the north, but due to a wrong road decision (I was on the phone with my Dad who was giving me important news) on my part, we ended up getting cored! Hail as big as ping-pongs fell from the sky all around us. Thank goodness they weren’t any bigger! At any rate, we had to navigate the backroads of SE OK, which is no small task! Finally, we got in position again just to the north of the l.l. meso (in the bear’s cage), where we saw an extremely low wall cloud. It had the shape of a wannabe wedge, but the rotation was just not significant enough to produce a tornado. We chased this supercell for another couple hours toward McAlester, but none of what we saw thereafter was that significant.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;This chase was fairly good, as far as chases are concerned, but it still lacked the one thing that can make any chase great: a tornado. Call me jaded, but I was a little disappointed. Nevertheless, it was a fun chase, and I'm still amazed that I was chasing storms for 7 hours straight! During that time, we saw 5 different supercells. &lt;/span&gt;Large-scale forcing was weak (vorticity maximum was still quit far to the west), so we were hoping that the dryline circulation would be sufficient initiate convection.&lt;span style="font-size:+0;"&gt; &lt;/span&gt;CAPE was forecast to be moderate (around 1500 j/kg) and low-level shear was progged to be quite intense (&gt;300 m2/s2 of 0-1 km SRH).&lt;span style="font-size:+0;"&gt; &lt;/span&gt;In addition, we hoped that an outflow boundary would intersect with the dryline and provide an additional source of convergence (and resulting lift).&lt;span style="font-size:+0;"&gt; &lt;/span&gt;Based on this, we targeted Hollis, Oklahoma.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;We (Jeff Snyder, Kim, Brandon Lawson, Grant Hicks, Bethany Vanderpool, and I) left Norman around 12 p.m. for SW Oklahoma.&lt;span style="font-size:+0;"&gt; &lt;/span&gt;We took the usual route down to Lawton (via HW 62 and I-44) and then west on HW 62 toward Altus.&lt;span style="font-size:+0;"&gt; &lt;/span&gt;We arrived in our target around 3 p.m. and obtained a WiFi connection in Altus.&lt;span style="font-size:+0;"&gt; &lt;/span&gt;After perusing data for a while, it was becoming increasingly apparent that the cap would not break.&lt;span style="font-size:+0;"&gt; &lt;/span&gt;Even still, we headed west to obtain a visual of the dryline.&lt;span style="font-size:+0;"&gt; &lt;/span&gt;There were a few elevated towers just west of the Oklahoma/Texas border, but it was obvious we were busted.&lt;span style="font-size:+0;"&gt; &lt;/span&gt;Thus, around 6 p.m., we headed back home.&lt;span style="font-size:+0;"&gt; The RUC suggests that morning convection will move to the northeast, leaving subsidence in its wake. As a result, daytime heating should commence along the dryline, and a narrow corridor of instability should develop (800-1200 j/kg). Tds will be a little low (only in the mid-upper 50s) resulting in fairly high LCLs, but the shear will certainly be strong enough to support a supercell mode. RUC actually removes CINH by 21Z and develops convective precipitation in SW OK by 00z. RUC is perhaps not the best model to be using for a convective initiation forecast, but it at least develops a somewhat favorable mesoscale environment for supercells.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;In addition, the exiting convection should leave an outflow boundary in its wake, which the Eta has hinted at for a few days now. This boundary will most likely intersect the dryline in SW OK. As usual with OFBs, it will enhance low-level vorticity, keep LCLs relatively low (along and north of it), and provide a focus for convergence. The setup was certainly classic; a warm front was occluding near the surface low along and just north of I-40, a dryline extended to the SSW from the surface low, and dewpoint depressions were around 5 degrees F or less to the north of the front. More importantly, strong insolation was taking place across all of western Oklahoma that definitely increased the low-level lapse rates and associated low-level instability.Originally, we (Justin, Jeff Snyder, and I) were thinking of heading SW to Chickasha where the RUC model indicated the warm front would setup. However, the front lifted quite a bit further north to just past the I-40 corridor (which was quite fortunate considering the 850/500 mb crossover was a bit more favorable for cyclonic storm rotation). At about 11:30 am, we headed west on I-40 toward our new target area. We ate lunch in Weatherford, and were informed by Dan Dawson that the SPC had removed the 2% tornado probs and that there was essentially no risk at all for tornadoes. Thank the Lord the “experts” don’t determine how the weather will turn out (though, I wish they were a little more accurate on those big hype days)!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Convection began to fire around 2 pm, and we decided to head west toward Clinton and then north on Highway 183 to get closer to the surface boundary. An isolated storm formed NW of Clinton in Custer county and quickly exhibited high radar reflectivities (on the order of 55 dBz). As we neared Taloga, the lower cloud bases associated with the cooler air to the north of the boundary became very apparent just to our north. We decided to setup at a location ~8 miles ESE of Taloga to watch the storm approach from the SW. We hoped that the storm would acquire rotation and then drop a tornado as it crossed the boundary.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;At around 4:15 pm, the base of the storm began to lower to our SW. After this, we headed south toward a new circulation that had formed east of the original. However, significant convection formed to the southeast of the storm which cooled the inflow parcels to our storm and reduced instability. The center of a very cold 500 mb trough (temps around -25 C) will pass over western and central Oklahoma this afternoon. A pseudo warm front will setup between Oklahoma City and Ardmore this afternoon, which will enhance low-level shear and lower LCL heights a bit. Deep-layer shear will also be strong, which empirically (according to Jon Davies) supports the possiblity of somewhat longer-lived tornadoes in any low-topped supercells that form.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Also, Jon Davies NSTP composite index is maximized by the RUC from SW OK at 21Z to C OK at 00Z. With insolation likely beginning in earnest shortly, low-level lapse rates will also be maximized which will yield a very favorable environment for the tilting and stretching of the low-level vorticity (which should be in abundance today).&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Targeting the interesection of the warm front with the low center, which should be NW of Lawton by 21Z. But as is typical of early season setups, there were plenty of flies to contaminate the proverbial ointment.  In this case, our trouble was very similar to 3/7 in that a very thick cirrus deck overspread the Southern Plains and the moisture also remained rather paltry.  However, we were hopeful that the strong forcing (associated with an approaching vort max) would make up for the considerable lack of instability.  Also, we hoped that the strong shear would (in a sense) "create" greater instability through vertical pressure perturbations (through storm rotation).&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;My chase group and I (which consisted of Mark Oerther, Justin Walker, Grant Hicks, Jeff Snyder, Jeff's fiance, Bryan Saliseder, Brandon Lawson, and myself) set out for an initial target of Ardmore, Oklahoma.  At the Microtel hotel, we established a WiFi connection and waited for the first storms to fire.  We saw Shane Adams and Mickey Ptak again, along with Aaron Kennedy and crew.  It was quite the chaser convergence! At any rate, storms did fire to our southwest, but they exhibited anticylonic rotation in the middle levels of the atmosphere (according to the SRV data)!  Apparently, the winds above 700 mb were backing somewhat with height, which gave a favorable hodograph (at least, for those levels) for clockwise storm rotation.  As the evening wore on, it became painfully obvious that the vort max would not arrive in time for surface based development to occur.  We headed home at around 6:45 (a bit later than we expected, due to incredibly slow service at the local McDonald's), and were treated to a nice lightning show to the south and east.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Overall, I give this chase a 3 out of 10, because though we never had surface based storms, we at least had lightning this time around. The SPC issued 5% tornado probs for NC OK/SC KS for the possibility of a couple of tornadoes.  ETA/RUC models progged CAPE as high as 2000 j/kg in N OK and 0-3 km SRH values of &gt; 300 m2/s2.  So, essentially, given convective initiation, supercell development was likely.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Based on this information, Justin Walker and I targeted SC KS (specifically, Wellington) because it appeared that this area would have the extra advantage of lower LCL heights.  We left Norman around 11:30 and made it to the Wellington area shortly after 2 pm.  On the way up, we noticed that the cirrus deck that had been in place during the morning over NW OK into SC KS was beginning to erode somewhat.  The sun peeked through a little bit around the Perry area, but it was becoming obvious (based on ThreatNet satellite) that the cloud deck would not erode quickly enough.  We ended up spending a good 2 hours waiting around in Wellington before we decided to call it a day.  On the way home, we spotted a few "blips" on ThreatNet that kept it interesting, but ultimately, a bust is a bust.  We ended up seeing Mickey Ptak and Shane Adams in Blackwell, which made the day rather nice (I love talking to Shane about old storm days--he knows as much as I do about the classic chases).&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;All in all, I'll give this chase a 2 out of 10.  Not absolutely pathetic, but almost.
